Jo Public is currently dormant.
Jo Public began life as a pub theatre based at The Griffin PH in Reading, Berkshire UK. Its first production 'Seconds' premiered on April 15th 1994. Seconds was written by Mic Dover and Graham Jarvis, directed by Gwen Daly. Various productions followed as well as talent shows, poetry nights etc. In 2003 Mic and Gwen emigrated to New Zealand to grow a family but later resurrected Jo Public in 2011 as Jo Public Tangata Theatre Company to put on plays and other events in The Free House yurt, in Nelson, South Island, NZ.
Plays produced included 'A Busy Man', 'Late Equaliser' and 'Home Smart Home'. When the yurt was sold, Jo Public switched to short film productions. These included 'New Life, New Zealand' (a documentary) 'Late Equaliser', 'Starfish' and 'Monster Sale'. Jo Public is currently dormant but you can watch the 18 minute version of Late Equaliser here.
